Cricket Victoria is pleased to announce the appointment of Wade Seccombe as Head of Male Cricket.
Seccombe brings extensive experience across Australian cricket as a respected coach, high-performance leader and former first-class cricketer. He has most recently contributed to Victorian cricket as T20 Performance Manager for the Melbourne Renegades, supporting high-performance strategy, coaching and recruitment.
Before moving to Victoria, Seccombe built a strong career with Queensland Cricket. A former wicketkeeper-batter, he played 115 first-class matches before moving into coaching. He was appointed Queensland Bulls Head Coach in 2017 and later coached Brisbane Heat to consecutive BBL finals campaigns, including the BBL|13 championship.
In his new role, Seccombe will lead Cricket Victoria's male high-performance program, working closely with players, coaches and staff across Victoria's Sheffield Shield, One-Day Cup and T20 programs. He will also strengthen the connection between the elite men's program and Victoria's Premier Cricket competition.
Cricket Victoria's General Manager Cricket Performance, Graham Manou, said Seccombe's experience and leadership would be a valuable addition to Victorian cricket.
"Wade has made a strong impression through the work he has already done with us at Cricket Victoria, particularly through his contribution to our T20 strategy and recruitment," Manou said.
"His performance in that role, combined with his broader experience across Australian Cricket, made him an excellent candidate to lead our male high-performance program."
Seccombe said he was excited to take on the role.
"Cricket Victoria has a proud history and a strong group of players, coaches and staff across the state and Big Bash programs," Seccombe said.
"I'm grateful for the opportunity and looking forward to helping create an environment where players can perform, develop and enjoy representing Victoria."
