Second man charged over assault - East Hills

A second man has been charged over an alleged assault in Sydney's south-west at the weekend.

About 10.45pm on Saturday (22 May 2021), officers from Bankstown Police Area Command were called following reports a man had been assaulted and hit by a car outside a licensed premises on Maclaurin Avenue, East Hills.

Police will allege two men, aged 30 and 35, were asked to leave the premises due to their behaviour. The men left in a Nissan X-Trail along Maclaurin Avenue, East Hills.

A short time later, the 30-year-old exited the car's passenger side and approached a 49-year-old man walking along Maclaurin Avenue. He allegedly kicked the older man, who fell onto the road.

Police will allege the 35-year-old man then drove at the 49-year-old man and struck him with the Nissan.

The older man suffered non-life-threatening injuries to his back, leg and thighs. The men in their 30s then allegedly fled the scene in the car.

As part of inquiries, a 35-year-old man was arrested and charged on Sunday (23 May 2021). He remains before the courts.

Following further investigations, a 30-year-old man was arrested at Narellan Police Station about 2pm today (Wednesday 26 May 2021).

He was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and affray.

The man was refused bail to appear at Campbelltown Local Court tomorrow (Thursday 27 May 2021).
