A second man has been charged after a family dog died during a break and enter in Sydney's south-west earlier this year.
Police were called to a home on Glider Avenue in Middleton Grange on 31 January 2021, after an 11-year-old Pomeranian dog was found dead, and property including jewellery, electronics and clothing stolen.
Liverpool City Police Area Command initiated inquiries and on 3 March 2021, a 19-year-old man was arrested and charged with commit act of aggravated cruelty upon animal, and break, enter and steal. He remains before the courts.
Following extensive inquiries, a second man was today (Tuesday 18 May 2021), arrested at a home in Rupert Street, Merrylands, and taken to Granville Police Station.
He was charged with aggravated break and enter commit serious indictable offence in company-steal, destroy or damage property, and commit an act of aggravated cruelty upon an animal.
He appeared in Fairfield Local Court today and was refused bail. He's been remanded in custody to appear in Liverpool Local Court on Monday 12 July 2021.
