Second murder charge after North Terrace stabbing, South Australia

This morning (Monday 23 May) Major Crime Detectives arrested a Victorian man and charged him with murder following the death of a man on North Terrace in the CBD last month.

It will be alleged that just after 2am on Monday 25 April, police were called to North Terrace after a man was found lying on the road at the intersection of North Terrace and George Street.

When officers arrived they found the man had multiple stab wounds to his chest.

Sadly, the 25-year-old Victorian man died at the scene.

After receiving information later that morning, officers attended Adelaide Airport and arrested four males attempting to travel to Victoria.

A 17-year-old boy from Meadow Heights in Victoria was charged with murder, aggravated affray and travelling under a false name. He was remanded in custody to re-appear in Adelaide Youth Court on 25 May.

A 21-year-old Victorian man was initially arrested at the Adelaide Airport on 25 April for aggravated affray whilst attempting to board a flight to Victoria and he has remained in custody in South Australia since that time.

After further investigation, Detectives today charged the 21-year-old man with murder. He has been remanded in custody and will appear in the Port Augusta Magistrates Court later today.
