Homicide Squad detectives have charged a man for his alleged role in the murder of Zac McRae in August 2025, as investigations continue.
Just after 10pm on Wednesday 27 August 2025, emergency services were called to a bus interchange on North Parade in Mount Druitt, following reports of a concern for welfare.
On arrival, officers attached to Mount Druitt Police Area Command located two men – both aged 19 – suffering from stab wounds.
One of the men sustained stab wounds to his chest and was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics at the scene; however, he could not be revived.
He has since been identified as Zac McRae.
The other man sustained stab wounds to his arm and was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to hospital in a stable condition. He has since been released.
A crime scene was established by local police before the matter was referred to State Crime Command's Homicide Squad under Strike Force Coberta to investigate.
Following extensive inquiries, a 19-year-old woman was arrested in December and remains before the courts.
As part of the ongoing investigation, about 10.20am on Wednesday 7 January 2026, strike force detectives arrested a 19-year-old man in Silverwater.
He was charged with murder, cause wounding grievous bodily harm to person with intent to murder, robbery in company cause wounding grievous bodily harm and assault person intend criminal activity of criminal group.
The man was refused bail to appear at Burwood Local Court today (Tuesday 13 January 2026).
As investigations under Stike Force Coberta continue, detectives have released CCTV of three men they believe can assist with their inquiries.
The men, believed to be aged in their 20s, are depicted walking along a street in Mount Druitt wearing black hoodies and trackpants, with two wearing black shoes and one wearing white shoes.
