Second Teen Charged After Northbridge Brawl

A second teenage boy has been charged following a brawl at a park in Sydney's northern suburbs last weekend.

About 7.30pm on Saturday 10 May 2025, officers from North Shore Police Area Command responded to reports of a brawl at an oval hosting a community event along Sailors Bay Road, Northbridge.

Officers were told a 17-year-old boy had been assaulted and following a foot pursuit, two males - aged 15 and 16 - were arrested. The older boy is alleged to have resisted arrest, assaulting officers.

The 17-year-old was treated for facial injuries and taken to Royal North Shore Hospital.

The two teens arrested were taken to Chatswood Police Station, where the older boy was charged with common assault, affray, behave in offensive manner in/near public place/school, armed with intent commit indictable offence, two counts of hinder or resist police officer in the execution of duty, assault police officer during public disorder.

He was granted conditional bail to appear at a children's court on Tuesday 3 June 2025.

The younger boy was released pending further investigation.

Following inquiries, about 2.00pm today (Thursday 15 May 2025), the 15-year-old boy was re-arrested at Chatswood Police Station.

He was charged with two offences – affray and offensive language.

The boy was released on conditional bail to appear at a children's court on Tuesday 3 June 2025.

Inquiries are continuing.
