Secretary General underlines importance of Turkey's contributions to NATO

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg met with the Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu on Friday (11 March 2022) in Antalya. The Secretary General commended Turkey for its contributions to NATO's collective deterrence and defence. He welcomed Turkey's efforts to mediate between Moscow and Kyiv and its deliveries of assistance to Ukraine.

Mr. Stoltenberg underlined that at this dangerous moment Europe and North America stand united in NATO, and stressed that Turkey's strong leadership and commitment to NATO's collective security is highly valued.

The Secretary General will meet with the President of Turkey, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and will also take part in the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, later today.
