Securing future of Tasmanian Leaders Program

Roger Jaensch,Minister for State Growth

The Tasmanian Liberal Government is investing in our current and future leaders with additional funding of approximately $760,000 to secure the future of the Tasmanian Leaders Program for years to come.

For over 15 years, our premier leadership program, the Tasmanian Leaders program, has been fostering Tasmania's emerging leadership talent across all fields, delivering some of our best business and community leaders.

Equipping our future leaders with the skills to lead change and innovation, the program encapsulates the importance that the Tasmanian Liberal Government places on investing in Tasmania's greatest asset – our people.

We know that building capability in our current and emerging leaders is an important contributor to achieving this objective, which is why we have been a proud supporter since its inception in 2007.

And, having supported the program since its inception, we have now committed to provide further funding of over $180,000 per year, continuing to invest in the bright future of this program for another four years (2022-2025).

Funding will also be provided to develop and pilot new programs based on the success of the Industry Leadership and Enterprise Development (I-LEAD) program for small to medium businesses.

The next specific I-LEAD program will focus on the tourism and hospitality sector, which is vital to the State's economic recovery and growth and is made possible through a further $47,000 in funding.

Applications for the 2022 program are now open and more information can be found here: https://www.tasmanianleaders.org.au/programs/tas-leaders-program/
