ABC's Landline presenter, Pip Courtney, and cricket great, Steve Waugh, will headline the Mid North Coast's Agricultural Conference River to the Sea in Kempsey this July.
Featuring a host of special guests, both well known globally and locally, the River to the Sea conference will kick off on Thursday 28 July and explores themes around the need for agricultural sustainability at a local level.
Pip Courtney will MC and present at the event, and will be joined by Steve Waugh, local farmer Glen Clarke, Ability Agriculture's Josie Clarke and Dr. Amy Cosby. Each keynote speaker has experienced challenges and setbacks working in the industry and will use these lived experiences to motivate and inspire the audience.
Kempsey Shire Council Manager Commercial Business, Gayleen Burley, said the conference is perfect for industry members to come together to talk about the future of their business.
"The River to the Sea conference is an opportunity for local farmers and agricultural industry to create connections and to help increase resilience in their business to changing climate conditions," said Ms Burley.
"Despite the many hardships suffered in recent times, the Kempsey Shire has a rich and strong agricultural industry and Council want to help where we can so that when faced with adversity like drought or disease in future, our farmers are prepared and know what they can do to bounce back faster and stronger."

Tickets are $25 per person for the full day conference including morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, post conference drinks and nibbles. This event has been heavily subsidised by Foundation for Rural Regional Renewal (FRRR) through funding from the Australia Government Future Drought Fund.
