See Nature Differently This August

Local photographer Jason from JNPhotos has taken up residence at The Imaginarium in Shellharbour Village as Shellharbour City Council's August Incubator Artist.

Throughout the month, The Imaginarium will become a working gallery and creative studio for his Art in Nature photography series, an exhibition that invites visitors to slow down and see the world through a different lens.

The public is invited to attend the official exhibition opening at 6pm on Friday 8 August, where they can meet the artist and experience the work firsthand.

Jason's photography captures the fleeting moments of beauty in the natural world: the curves of a shell, the texture of bark, or the light glinting off a leaf. His work blends technical skill with a deep appreciation for nature's details, creating images that invite reflection and reconnection.

Shellharbour City Mayor Chris Homer said Council was proud to continue supporting local talent through the Incubator Artist program.

"It's fantastic to see another creative local using the space to share their work and engage with the community," Mayor Homer said.

"The Imaginarium is a place to spark creativity, and this is a great opportunity for people to experience the artistic process up close."

Jason said the opportunity to work from The Imaginarium had been a significant moment in his creative journey.

"Through my Art in Nature series, I want people to rediscover the wonder that surrounds us. To feel the peace, joy, and reverence our environment inspires. Having this space at the Imaginarium is a very big deal for me as an emerging artist."

As part of his residency, Jason will host a series of free workshops and artist talks throughout August. These interactive sessions are open to all ages and experience levels, no photography background needed.
