A senior constable from the western region has been charged following an internal investigation.
The 33-year-old male officer was charged with recklessly cause injury and common law assault.
The charges relate to an alleged incident on July 18 2020 while the officer was off duty.
He was charged on summons to appear at a court at a later date.
