Serious Assault Charges At Townsville

A man has been charged after three police officers were injured during an alleged disturbance in Gulliver late yesterday, 26 July.

About 6.25pm police were called to Tyrrell Street following reports a man was allegedly entering a number of properties without permission.

Upon arrival, police approached the man when it will be alleged he became violent towards them resulting in three officers being assaulted.

A 50-year-old Mount Louisa man has been charged with eight offences including three counts of serious assault police officer, two counts of trespass and one possession of a knife.

He had his bail refused and is expected to appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court on tomorrow, 28 July.
