Serious assault investigation, Ayr

Police are seeking public assistance after a 50-year-old man was located unconscious in a street in Ayr a few days ago.

Around 2.15am on July 25, emergency services were called to the intersection of Soper and MacMillan Streets where a man was located with serious injuries.

It is believed the man was a victim of an assault.

The injured man was transported to Ayr Hospital for assessment and air lifted to Townsville Hospital for treatment to skull and jaw fractures.

Detectives are seeking assistance from members of the community who may be able to assist the investigation with CCTV, dashcam footage or any information that may help.
