Detectives are appealing for public assistances after the assault of a man outside a cabaret restaurant in Broadbeach Waters overnight, Queensland Police say.
Shortly after midnight, a 49-year-old man was walking on Hooker Boulevard with a group when he was approached from behind and unexpectedly assaulted by a number of men.
The victim was hit several times in the face and head causing him to fall over where he was kicked a number of times to the head.
At which point the men fled on foot east along hooker boulevard towards Broadbeach.
The victim was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
