Serious assault investigation, Sandgate

Carseldine detectives investigating the serious assault of a man in Sandgate have released images of a man who may be able to assist with investigations.

Initial information indicates that the assault occurred around 2.20pm on Saturday, October 29, when a 73-year-old Bracken Ridge man was punched about the head by another man on Ward Street. He fell to the ground and was punched several more times in the head.

A man, believed to be aged in his 40s, left on a skate board and was last seen heading east on Ward Street without his grey helmet, which was left at the scene.

He is described as Caucasian, approximately 175cm cm tall, medium build and short brown hair. He was carrying a black backpack with white motif and was wearing a grey t-shirt, blue shorts and black and white sneakers.

Detectives appeal to the man to come forward, and encourage anyone with further information to contact police.

The 73-year-old man sustained bruising and facial injuries and sought treatment in hospital.

Investigations continue.
