Serious Assault Of Male - Waverley, TAS

At approximately 12.30am on Wednesday the 10th January 2018, police  and Tas Ambulance personnel were called to the intersection of Naroo Street and Tasman Highway Waverley where a male person had been located with serious head injuries, Tasmania Police say.

The male person who is believed to be aged between 30 and 40 years has been transported to the Launceston General Hospital where he remains in the ICU in a serious condition, but which is not life threatening.  He has numerous fractures to his face and abrasions to his body.   The identity of the male is unknown at this time.

The male is described as being, caucasian with fair skin, approximately 175cm to 179cm tall, Auburn receding hair, medium build.   He has no facial hair.  His eyebrows are very manicured and very thin.      At the time he was located he was wearing jeans and a black  "Tank Top."  He was not wearing any foot wear.

Police have conducted enquiries in the area but have not been able to identify the person, nor have they been able to establish the circumstances that led to him being where he was located.

Police do not believe that the victim has been injured as a result of a motor vehicle crash, but believe he is a victim of a serious assault.

Launceston CIB are currently investigating the matter and seek the assistance of the public as to the identification of the victim, as well as seeking information from any person that may have knowledge of the matter.
