Serious assault of man in car park in Galston

Police are appealing for public assistance after the serious assault of a man in Sydney’s north, NSW Police say.

About 8.10pm yesterday (Thursday 2 November 2017), a male aged about 65 years old was seated in his car in the car park of an aquatic centre on Galston Road, Galston, when an unknown male approached the car and pulled the man out.

He then assaulted the man with a blunt object, which caused him numerous fractures to his head and arms.

The offender left the scene in a vehicle, however no description is available at this stage.

Police from Kuring-Gai Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

The victim was taken to Hornsby Hospital for treatment to the injuries, which are not believed to be life threatening.

Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone in the area at the time to come forward.

The motivation for the attack is not known.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
