Serious assault police in Edens Landing, QLD

Two men have been charged after allegedly assaulting police in Edens Landing this morning, Queensland Police say.

It will be alleged around 1am officers were called to a noise complaint at a Castile Crescent address.

During inquiries by officers it will be alleged an 18-year-old man who was an occupant of the residence obstructed officers and was therefore placed under arrest.

At this time, it will be alleged a 43-year-old man became aggressive and seriously assaulted the two officers.

After a brief struggle, the 43-year-old man was also placed under arrest and both men were then taken to the Beenleigh Watchhouse.

A 43-year-old male senior constable was treated for bruising and lacerations to the face and head while a 23-year-old constable sustained bruising to his upper body and laceration to the hand.

An 18-year-old Edens Landing man has been charged with two counts of assault police and is expected to appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court on October 10.

A 43-year-old Edens Landing man has been charged with two counts of serious assault police causing grievous bodily harm and will also appear at Beenleigh Magistrates Court on October 10.
