Investigations are underway following a serious crash at Smithfield today, NSW Police say.
About 2.30pm today, police and emergency services were called to Smithfield Road following reports of a collision between a car and a pedestrian.
A male pedestrian aged in his 60’s was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics for a head injury before being taken to Liverpool Hospital in a critical condition.
The driver of the car is assisting police with inquiries and has been taken to hospital for mandatory blood and urine testing.
Police from Fairfield Local Area Command are investigating the incident.
Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
