Police and emergency services are currently at the scene of a crash on Old Taupo Road, SH5 which occurred around 7.15pm.
A car collided with a pedestrian who was taken to hospital in a critical condition.
Traffic is being diverted from the scene from Fairy Springs Road down Lake Road.
Motorists are asked to avoid the area while the Serious Crash Unit examines the scene.
