Emergency services are currently on scene of a serious crash involving a police officer at Lucas Heights.
About 2.10pm (Thursday 31 January 2019) emergency services were called to New Illawarra Road, near Heathcote Road, after reports of a multi-vehicle crash.
A police officer aged in his 30s, has been taken to Liverpool Hospital in a critical condition.
The female driver of a second vehicle, has been taken to Liverpool Hospital in a serious condition.
Officers from Sutherland Shire Police Area Command are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Traffic diversions are currently in place.
