Serious single vehicle crash, Bonogin

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating following a serious single-vehicle traffic crash that occurred at Bonogin overnight.

Initial inquiries indicate around 1:20am, the vehicle was travelling along Bonogin Road, near Tulipwood Drive, before leaving the roadway and colliding with a pole.

The driver of the vehicle, a 16-year-old boy, was transported to Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition.

A passenger in the vehicle, a 19-year-old woman, was transported to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.

Forensic Crash Unit investigators are appealing for witnesses, especially those with dashcam or CCTV vision of the crash or the moments leading up to it, to come forward.

Investigations are ongoing.
