Serious three vehicle crash Tasman Highway Orielton, Tuesday the 4th of April, at 9.40am

Approximately 9.40am a three vehicle collision occurred on the Tasman Highway Orielton near Black Charlies Opening.  A silver Kia sedan was travelling toward Orford when a white Ford transit van crossed to the incorrect side of the road after negotiating a left hand bend.  The Kia was being driven by a 63 year old man and his 55 year old wife was seated in the rear of the vehicle, Tasmania Police say.

Following the Kia was a black Kawasaki motor cycle.  As a result of the initial collision between the two vehicles the Motor cycle collided with the rear of the Kia.  The 31 year old male rider from Victoria was uninjured as a result.

The driver of the Ford a 33 year old man from Levendale was not injured.  The driver of the Kia was taken to the Royal Hobart Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  The passenger from the Kia is currently in ICU at the Royal Hobart Hospital.  She is listed a critical but stable.
