Serious traffic crash at Deagon, QLD

Police are at the scene of a serious traffic crash at Deagon, Queensland Police say.

Around 5.47am, police were called to the northbound lanes of the Gateway Motorway, near Depot Road, following reports of a two vehicle crash.

Preliminary investigations indicate a car and motorcycle collided, causing the rider of the motorcycle to fall onto the roadway. He was subsequently struck by a small truck.

The motorcycle rider was transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital with serious back and leg injuries.

The northbound lanes were closed for a short time while emergency services responded, but have since reopened.

Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash or who may have been in the area at the time with relevant dash-cam footage to contact Policelink on 131 444.
