On Saturday 1 November, the City of Playford is partnering with Green Industries SA to host a free clothing donation and linen recycling event as part of the state-wide Set Your Clothes Free campaign.
Running from 9 am to 3 pm, the event will see 13 sites open across Adelaide and regional South Australia, making it easy to drop off unwanted clothing, shoes and household textiles for reuse or recycling.
All types of clothing and footwear that are unwanted, but still in good enough condition to be worn will be accepted to be donated to partnering charities. If the items are good enough to give to a friend or family member to wear, then they're good enough to be donated.
Playford residents can visit their nearest drop-off point at NAWMA Resource Recovery Centre on Bellchambers Road, Edinburgh North. However, you're welcome to donate at any participating site across the state.
Mayor Glenn Docherty said the initiative offers an excellent way to reuse clothing and reduce waste, while making a positive difference to those in need.
"By setting your clothes free, you're helping keep textiles out of landfill and giving them a new purpose - it's a simple action that makes a big difference," said Mayor Docherty.
