Police have arrested seven people and seized a firearm and other assorted weapons after a man was located with serious injuries in Port Melbourne this morning.
Emergency services were called to reports of a serious assault on Dow Street around 4.55am.
Responding police located a 33-year-old man on a unit balcony.
He was conveyed to hospital to be treated for serious injuries.
The exact cause of his injuries is yet to be determined.
Seven people were arrested at a nearby residence and are now being interviewed by police.
The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are yet to be determined and investigations remain ongoing.
At this early stage police believe the parties involved are known to each other.
