The Albanese Government has announced the release of seven major tenders for High Speed Rail Newcastle to Sydney. This marks the beginning of the Development Phase, and another milestone in delivering this nation-shaping infrastructure project.
The Development phase will ensure that Line 1 is construction ready and will secure time-critical environmental and planning approvals and refine estimates from the business case on project cost, timelines and benefits.
These new tender packages will cover key technical, environmental, engineering and project delivery.
In addition to advancing technical design, these tenders will support environmental approvals and corridor protection activities, ensuring that these are in place when the government makes an investment decision following the conclusion of the development phase.
The tender packages include:
- Technical and Architectural Adviser
- Business, Operations and Maintenance Adviser
- Commercial and Transactions Adviser
- Delivery Partner
- Strategic Property Acquisition Adviser
- Environmental Planning and Assessment Adviser
- Demand Forecasting Adviser.
By progressing this detailed planning and strengthening industry partnerships the Government is showcasing their commitment to delivering High Speed Rail between Sydney and Newcastle.
The tender information is available via the Australian Government's AusTender platform.
