Detectives from the Gladstone Child Protection Investigation Unit (CPIU) have charged a 68-year-old man with 36 sexual and drug-related offences in Barney Point.
It will be alleged the offences were committed across a three-year period against two girls who were known to the man.
Following investigations, detectives executed a search warrant at an address in Barney Point on May 9 where a 68-year-old man was taken into custody.
A 68-year-old man from Barney Point has been charged with 12 counts of rape, eight counts of indecent treatment of children under 16, seven counts of supplying dangerous drugs to a minor, three counts of breach of bail, two counts of permitting use of place, and one count each of maintaining an unlawful relationship with a child, attempt to commit offence supplying dangerous drugs to a minor, possessing dangerous drugs, and contravening an order about information necessary to access information stored electronically.
He is due to appear before Gladstone Magistrates Court on June 9.
