Sexual assault investigation, Fortitude Valley

Brisbane detectives investigating the alleged sexual assault of a woman in Fortitude Valley last month have released images of a man who may be able to assist with their investigations.

A woman aged in her 20's walked down Berwick Street and entered a building complex around 9pm on Wednesday April 22.

A man followed the woman into the building and into an elevator before exiting on the same floor.

It will be alleged after a brief conversation the man pushed the woman against a hallway wall, lifted her off the ground and groped her.

She managed to fend him off and the man fled down the internal stairway.

Police investigations indicate the man caught a train soon after from Fortitude Valley Railway Station and exited at Loganlea Railway Station where he was last seen walking down Loganlea Road.

The man is described as African in appearance, around 175cm tall and of a solid build.

He was wearing a black and white vertical striped shirt, quarter length shorts and a black peak cap.

The woman first noticed the man as she was crossing Ann Street, with the man, unbeknown to her, following her to Berwick Street.
