Police are appealing for more information as part of an ongoing investigation involving an 87-year-old Burpengary man charged with alleged sexual offences.
Operation Xray Ironpath was established after a report was received by police in October 2025.
Detectives from the State Flying Squad and the Sexual Crimes Unit arrested an 87-year-old Burpengary man on 20 November and he has been charged with three counts of rape, seven counts of indecent treatment of a child and one count of unlawful carnal knowledge.
Police will allege the man utilised his position as a well-known sports coach in the Caboolture area to commit offences against three children under the age of 16.
He is due to appear before Caboolture Magistrates Court on 2 December.
Investigators are now reviewing the potential offending period from the early 1990s to 2025 and are appealing to anyone with further information relating to the incidents or victims who may have experienced similar in the Caboolture, North Brisbane and Mackay areas to come forward.
