Shared Path Coming To Elderslie

A shared path in Elderslie has been given the green light, with Camden Council accepting almost $1 million in grant funding.

At last week's Ordinary Meeting, Councillors voted to accept $980,000 as part of Transport for New South Wales' (TfNSW) Get NSW Active Program, which provides funding to local councils for projects that create safe, easy and enjoyable walking and riding trips for communities across the state.

The shared path will be created from Hilder Street to Franzman Avenue through Kirkham Park in Elderslie improving access for pedestrians and cyclists to Elderslie High School and Kirkham Park.

Mayor of Camden, Cr Ashleigh Cagney, said the project would deliver a number of benefits to the community.

"This shared pathway will promote active travel, improve safety and enhance connectivity, while also contributing to a more vibrant and active community," she said.

"It's so important we continue to add provisions like this, to ensure our suburbs continue to be places our residents love to live, work and play in.

"A big thank you to The Hon. John Graham MLC, Minister for Transport, for the grant funding and also to Mrs Sally Quinnell MP, Member for Camden, for her support."

A number of other grant funding amounts were also accepted at the Ordinary Meeting, including:

· $70,000 as part of the NSW EPA's Litter Prevention Grants Program; and

· $15,000 as part of the EPA's Kerbside Dumping Intervention (Move Smooth) Trial 2025.
