13 August – 10 September

Monash Council has secured VicHealth funding to deliver The Shared Plate Project, to address food insecurity across Monash.

The Shared Plate Project will provide free weekly, no-waste cooking classes in partnership with Open Table, to Holmesglen Institute students who are living away from home and who may be at risk of factors associated with food insecurity.

The five-week pilot program will cover an extensive and exciting program.

Participants will gain confidence in clean, no waste cooking, while connecting with others, sharing food traditions, and learning how to access fresh, affordable food close by.

Insights from the program will also help inform Council's future work on food access in Monash, ensuring local initiatives better reflect community needs.

This program will be delivered at Holmesglen Institute (Chadstone) in the first week and at Power Neighbourhood House in Ashwood for the remaining four weeks.
