Sharing geoscience at Victoria Gold Mining and Exploration Forum

Gold production in Victoria is at the highest level in over a century and the outlook remains positive with an estimated 75 million ounces yet to be discovered in northern Victoria.

To promote mineral exploration investment, the Geological Survey of Victoria (GSV) continues to share information about underexplored mineral resources across the state.

The GSV will be presenting at the Victoria Gold Mining and Exploration Forum (18 and 19 August 2021). Manager Minerals Geoscience Cameron Cairns will update industry and investors on existing data and resources. Mr Cairns will also outline where the GSV is focussing its pre-competitive geoscience data acquisition to gain a deeper understanding of Victoria's geology.

To be held at Melbourne's Rendezvous Hotel, the Victoria Gold Mining and Exploration Forum will examine the latest developments in gold exploration and mining in Victoria. Topics will include Traditional Owner perspectives and engagement, community expectations, solutions to industry challenges, mine rehabilitation and the latest technology.

Industry Insights will also be provided by the Minerals Council of Australia and Victorian focussed explorers such as Kirkland Lake Gold and Navarre Minerals.
