  • The School remains part of an elite group of business schools worldwide holding 'Triple Crown' accreditation
  • Only around one per cent of business schools globally hold accreditation from AACSB, AMBA and EQUIS
  • AMBA praised the School's high-quality education, employability support, regional impact and strong institutional backing

The University of Sheffield Management School has retained its place among the world's leading business schools after receiving the highest possible five-year unconditional reaccreditation from the Association of MBAs (AMBA).

The reaccreditation means the School continues to hold prestigious 'Triple Crown' accreditation, a globally recognised status achieved by only around one per cent of business schools worldwide.

The Triple Crown accolade is awarded to institutions holding accreditation from the three leading international business education bodies: AACSB, AMBA and EQUIS. Fewer than 125 institutions globally currently hold all three accreditations.

AMBA accreditation focuses specifically on the quality and impact of MBA and postgraduate management education, assessing areas including teaching quality, student experience, employability support, leadership development and return on investment for graduates.

The latest reaccreditation reflects the continued strength of the University of Sheffield Management School's teaching, research, global outlook and commitment to helping students succeed throughout their careers.

Professor Eleanor Davies, Interim Dean of the Management School at the University of Sheffield, said: "AMBA accreditation is an important mark of international quality, strengthening our global reputation and recognising the outstanding education and experience we provide for our MBA and Masters students.

"This is a tremendous achievement for our School and reflects the professionalism, commitment and teamwork across our community. We are particularly proud that the review panel recognised the deep sense of institutional pride and place shared by our stakeholders, reflecting the vibrant, positive environment we enjoy both within the University and the city of Sheffield itself."

The AMBA review panel commended the Management School for its clear strategic vision, strong sense of community and focus on supporting students to achieve successful and meaningful careers.

In particular, reviewers highlighted the School's comprehensive and thoughtful graduate attribute methodology, which is applied across its portfolio to actively enhance graduate employability.

As a constituent of a research-led institution, the Management School was also praised for the sincerity with which it engages with its local community and region, delivering clear and obvious benefits to its key regional constituents.

The panel noted that the Management School enjoys excellent support and alignment both within its faculty and from the University's top leadership, ensuring it has the strategic resources required to fulfil its future ambitions.

The University of Sheffield Management School offers undergraduate, postgraduate and executive education programmes to students from across the world, with a strong focus on responsible management, sustainability and real-world impact.
