Shetland Heights footpath about to start

A new footpath will be constructed along Shetland Heights Road in San Remo, with work on Stage 1 about to get underway.

This $170,000 project is part of Bass Coast Shire Council's Pathways Gap Program.

Stage 1 of the project is expected to take around three months to complete and will include construction of a 1.5-metre-wide concrete path from the Back Beach Road intersection to Penniwells Drive (East). This work will include service adjustments for water, power and Telstra services with alterations to driveways and stormwater pit lids, as required.

Stage 2 will include construction of a two-metre-wide gravel path, connecting from Penniwells Drive (East) to Potters Hill Road and the new school campus. This section of path will be completed prior to the opening of the new school, with construction expected to occur in early 2022.

Appropriate traffic and pedestrian control measures will also be implemented onsite during the works.

Local and emergency access will be provided at all times.

The contractor will make every effort to minimise disruptions to road users, residents and businesses during these works and Council appreciates your patience during these times.
