Campaspe Shire Council extends its sincere gratitude to all emergency responders who are working tirelessly during the current bushfires across Victoria.

Campaspe Shire Mayor, Cr Daniel Mackrell, praised responders for their extraordinary efforts.

"On behalf of Campaspe Shire Council and our community, I want to sincerely thank every emergency responder who stepped up during this challenging time and will continue to do so over the coming days and weeks. Your commitment and courage have been outstanding."

Cr Mackrell also acknowledged the efforts of Council staff during recent extreme weather.

"I commend our Council officers who worked diligently during last week's heatwave to ensure preparations were in place for the safety and wellbeing of our community."

Cr Mackrell emphasised the importance of unity and collaboration and noted that this week Campaspe Shire Council is actively supporting neighbouring councils through a range of initiatives.

"We stand in solidarity with our colleagues at neighbouring councils who have been impacted. This is a time for unity, and Campaspe Shire is committed to providing practical support wherever it's needed."

While offering this support, Campaspe Shire Council acknowledges that the region remains in the height of summer. Council continues to conduct business as usual while remaining prepared to respond to emergencies within the municipality should the need arise.

"We continue to urge community members to be prepared for emergency events," Cr Mackrell said.

"I highly encourage residents to utilise our Emergency Dashboard on our website, or visit our Service Centres for planning resources and information."
