Shooting incident in Surfers Paradise, QLD

A man has been shot by police following an incident in Surfers Paradise this morning, Queensland Police say.

The incident occurred around 1.30am at a building on corner of Cyprus Avenue and Ferny Avenue as police responded to a building alarm.

The man has been taken to Gold Coast University Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening gunshot wounds.

The investigation of the incident will be overviewed by the Ethical Standards Command.
