Christmas cheer returns to shopping precincts across Hobsons Bay with the 2020 Shops on Show program.
After a tumultuous year for retailers and small business owners, the Shops on Show program gives businesses the opportunity to promote their shopfronts while encouraging the community to support local traders.
Businesses will be invited to register their interest and provide a photo of their business, all glammed up for the festive season. The images will be collated into a social media gallery on Council's channels where residents can vote for their favourite Christmas decorations.
To help spread the Christmas cheer, a merry medley of prizes will be available for both voters and participating businesses. By voting, residents will go into the running for up to $250 to spend at their favourite local store and the winning businesses will take home advertising space in the Maribyrnong and Hobsons Bay Star Weekly.
Businesses who wish to participate must register with a photo of their decorated shop window for Council to promote before 6pm on Monday 14 December. Voting will open from 12pm Tuesday 15 December to Tuesday 22 December.
Winners will be announced on Council's Facebook and Instagram on Wednesday 23 December.
