Shot fired, Burpengary East

Police are investigating after a woman was shot at Burpengary East this afternoon.

Just after 1pm, police were called to the Talbot Way address to reports a woman had been shot in the arm.

The 21-year-old Curra woman was transported to hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Six people were in the house including two children when the disturbance occurred however no one else was injured.

CIB and scenes of crime are on scene.

Moreton Bay district Inspector Craig White said preliminary investigations indicate the incident was not random.

"While we believe two men fled the house on foot, we have no information at this time to indicate they are a threat to anyone else.

"However, if a member of the public notices anything suspicious or out of place in the local area, please do not approach and call police immediately.

"Police are in the area conducting extensive foot, vehicle and aerial patrols for the men."

The investigation is ongoing.
