Drug and Firearms Squad detectives have charged a man and allegedly seized almost $3 million worth of cannabis following a search at a property in Sydney's west.
Strike Force Hyperion is an ongoing investigation by State Crime Command's Drug and Firearms Squad Cannabis and Chemical Diversion Team targeting outdoor and greenhouse cannabis cultivation across NSW.
About 5pm yesterday (Wednesday 16 September 2026) strike force detectives - with assistance for Southwest Metropolitan Operations Support Group - executed a search warrant at a property in Chester Hill.
During the search, police allegedly located a cannabis cultivation operation containing 325 cannabis plants, with an estimated potential street value of $2,951,000.
A 48-year-old man was arrested and taken to Bankstown Police Station, where he was charged with cultivate prohibited plant greater than large commercial quantity-cannabis and found on/entering/leaving drug premises.
He was refused bail to appear at Bankstown Local Court today (Thursday 17 September 2026).
