Just days after the first passenger flights out of Western Sydney International Airport, Bradfield City is taking another major step towards becoming a thriving hub for jobs, industry and innovation, with the Minns Labor Government opening Expressions of Interest (EOI) for a development partner to deliver Bradfield City's new Enterprise Precinct.
Located next to the Advanced Manufacturing Precinct and a short walk from the City Precinct, new Bradfield Metro Station and two-hectare Central Park, the Enterprise Precinct is expected to become a thriving business precinct for blue-chip businesses, small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs), start-ups, researchers and education institutions to establish and grow in Australia's first new city in 100 years.
The EOI will identify an experienced development partner to help realise the precinct's potential and deliver an initial 6.7 hectares of land to support local industry, high-value jobs, investment and stronger supply chains.
The Enterprise Precinct is expected to attract businesses in advanced manufacturing, construction innovation, aerospace, semiconductor technology, clean technology, freight and logistics, education and research, defence and supporting sectors.
There is already a strong pipeline of prospective businesses hoping to establish themselves in Bradfield City close to the Western Sydney International Airport and connected by the toll-free M12 Motorway.
This EOI takes the next step to turn that demand into a reality, connecting Western Sydney's workforce with education and research partners to create a thriving hub for jobs and innovation.
A further 7 hectares may be released to the chosen development partner following completion of the first Enterprise Precinct stage.
This follows two years of significant progress, including:
- Finalising a development agreement with Plenary to transform the first Superlot.
- The City Precinct is already progressing, with a new food and beverage destination planned to open in 2028 and a market process to secure an anchor university currently being finalised.
- Partnering with Superloop to deliver the cities digital infrastructure.
- Opening of the First Building the Advanced Manufacturing Readiness Facility.
- Completing the first stage of civil and enabling works making more than a third of the city development ready.
- Starting construction of the Second Building
- Approving the iconic two-hectare Central Park, which is due to start construction this year.
- Committing to make Bradfield the site of Australia's first commercial semiconductor advanced packaging facility.
- Accelerating private investment in the broader Aerotropolis with $34.1 billion worth of projects in the pipeline at various stages.
Together, these projects are establishing the homes, jobs, businesses, industry and public spaces that will underpin Bradfield City's growth and the city's long-term vision for 20,000 jobs and 10,000 homes.
Deputy Premier of New South Wales and Minister for Western Sydney Prue Car said:
"The Minns Labor Government wants to attract investment and industries to Bradfield that will provide lasting benefits for Western Sydney's communities for generations to come.
"With Western Sydney International Airport now open, Bradfield City sits at the centre of innovation in Australia, and with that comes jobs, industry, and economic opportunities, where locals can build careers close to home.
"This is another example of the Minns Labor Government building a better future for the communities of Western Sydney, which were left behind for too long by the Liberals and Nationals.
Minister for Planning and Public Spaces Paul Scully said:
"Bradfield City is well on its way to becoming a thriving hub for jobs, industry and innovation, and the Enterprise Precinct is a critical part of that vision.
"The strong response from prospective businesses shows there is real demand from advanced industries to establish and grow in Bradfield City, bringing highly skilled jobs closer to communities in Western Sydney.
"We're now looking for an experienced development partner to turn that demand into a thriving Enterprise Precinct where businesses of all sizes can establish, grow and create jobs."
Labor Candidate for Badgerys CreekGarion Thain said:
"Bradfield offers a once-in-a-generation opportunity for Western Sydney to become an international hub for innovation, jobs and industry.
"It's exciting to see momentum continuing to build behind Australia's first new city in 100 years and see our community getting access to more opportunity thanks to the major investments being made on our doorstep."
