Show us your "thingamabobs"

In Hyphen Wodonga Library Gallery's next exhibition in the Community Gallery, we are celebrating the lost art of the tinkerer and we need your help.

We are looking for wacky, weird and wonderful historical items to feature in Hyphen's exhibition of "thingamabobs".

On Saturday, February 26 betwen 10.30am and 2.30pm, bring in your unusual but highly functional household items from the past - kitchenalia, homemade tools and mysterious objects which have been adapted for a special function, either in the home or the workplace.

We want to hear the stories of the items, why they were made, what purpose they were made for, the family myths around them and their makers.

We are looking for things like the above item which is a home-made doorbell made by Hyphen team member Evie Meikle's grandfather.

Curators will meet and talk about your items on the day and be in touch if it will have a home within the final exhibit.

We are looking for items in human scale - no tractors thanks and please note, this is not Antiques Roadshow.

We will not be providing valuations on your antiques but if you would like to bring them in, we can perhaps provide some historical context.
