Significant and dynamic arrest for Centenary Patrol Group

It was a collaborative policing effort from various tactical and general policing units across Centenary and Logan Patrol groups that resulted in the arrest of two men on a number of charges as a result of offences committed within and outside the Centenary Patrol group, Queensland Police say.

POLAIR 1 and 2 were conducting patrols when crews from POLAIR 1 spotted a stolen vehicle at approximately 5.30pm. Both choppers then tracked the vehicle which was allegedly travelling at speeds of up to 200km on the Logan Motorway through the Logan and South Brisbane Districts.

It will be alleged the stolen vehicle allegedly ran 17 red lights and was observed to drive onto the wrong side of the road and into oncoming traffic until stingers were deployed by Calamvale Generals crews which brought the stolen vehicle to a stop on Logan Rd, at Eight Mile Plains.

It will be further alleged the driver and passenger fled the scene, with POLAIR 1 tracking the driver, jumping fences and into the arms of waiting police from Logan Tactical Crime Squad. Polair 2 tracked the passenger over multiple fences and yards and into the paws of the waiting Dog Sqaud.
