Six men have been charged after an investigation into an alleged affray at a shopping centre in Sydney's CBD last week.

About 12.30pm on Wednesday 21 June 2023, police were called to a shopping centre on Market Street in Sydney, following reports a group of six unknown males had been involved in an alleged affray.

A short time later, officers attached to Sydney City Police Area Command – assisted by the Public Order and Riot Squad – arrested two men, aged 19 and 21, on Kent Street.

The men were taken to Day Street Police Station, where they were charged with affray, and granted strict conditional bail to appear before Downing Centre Local Court on Wednesday 12 July 2023.

Following further inquiries, officers attached to State Crime Command's Raptor Squad – with assistance from specialist police attached to the Tactical Operations Unit – executed search warrants at four homes at North Parramatta, Auburn, Dundas Valley, and South Granville, about 6am on Friday (22 June 2023).

Three men – aged 33, 30, and 24 – were arrested at the North Parramatta address and taken to Granville Police Station, while a fourth man, aged 26, was arrested a short time later.

During a search of the North Parramatta home, police seized two firearms and $30,000 in cash. An additional $13,000 was seized from the Auburn address. The items will undergo further forensic examination.

All four men were charged with affray, refused bail, and appeared before Parramatta Local Court the same day.

The 30 and 24-year-old men were formally refused bail to re-appear before Downing Centre Local Court on Wednesday 28 June 2023.

The 33 and 26-year-old men were granted conditional bail to re-appear before Downing Centre Local Court on Thursday 6 July 2023.
