Small Business JobMaker Booster Scheme Opens

NT Government

Small businesses across the Territory can today capitalise on the Northern Territory Labor Government's $7.8 million Small Business JobMaker Booster schemes.

The initiatives were unveiled in last month's Budget, and have been designed to complement the Federal Government's JobMaker program for young jobseekers.

There are two schemes up for grabs:

1. The NT Government will provide funding to boost the Australian Government's JobMaker Hiring Credit Scheme. The funding would be provided to eligible small businesses in the Territory employing eligible unemployed Territorians with $100 per week for employees 30-35 years of age and $200 per week for employees over the age of 35.

To apply for scheme 1, employers need to register on the JobMaker Hiring Credit Portal to assess business eligibility. Scheme 1 is available to Territory small businesses with an annual turnover of less than $10 million.

2. The NT Government will co-contribute matched funding to any peak industry body to support interstate marketing campaigns that encourage workers to move to the Territory and fill jobs that are listed on the NT's Skills and Occupations Priority List (NTSOPL).

To apply for scheme 2, organisations must be a recognised peak body in the Northern Territory. Their advertising campaign must targeting workers outside of the NT, with an aim to fill positions listed on the NTSOPL.
