SMS geo-targeting appeal issued to locate man missing in north

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a man missing from the state's north-west.

Mr Mitchell Matthew, aged 26, was last seen at a licensed premises on Barber Street, Gunnedah, in the evening of Friday 15 July 2022.

Family members reported him missing the following day, with officers attached to Oxley Police District commencing extensive inquiries to locate him.

Police, family and friends hold serious concerns for his welfare.

Mitchell is described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander in appearance, between 170cm to 175cm tall, of solid build, with black hair and brown eyes.

He is known to frequent the Narrabri, Gunnedah and Tamworth areas.

If anyone has seen or heard from Mitchell, or may have information which could assist is urged to contact police immediately.
