There have been no new cases of COVID-19 today. There have been a total of 459 cases reported in SA.
There are eight active cases in SA and 447 people have been cleared of COVID-19. There have been four reported deaths from COVID-19.
More than 289,500 tests have been undertaken. All of our dedicated metropolitan COVID-19 clinics no longer require GP referral or a booking to attend.
A COVID-19 testing facility for interstate truck and train drivers opened today at Port Augusta. The new facility is located at the Puma Port Augusta Truckstop, Lot 8, National Highway 1. It is open from 8.00 am to 11.00 pm, seven days a week, with no referrals or bookings required.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 outbreaks in Victoria and New South Wales and the risk they pose to SA, assessment and approval of certain activities and venues that require a COVID Management Plan continue to be temporarily paused while the risks can be assessed.
There is a significantly higher risk of COVID-19 due to current outbreaks interstate. If you have any symptoms of COVID-19, no matter how mild, you need to get tested as soon as possible.
If you know someone with symptoms of COVID-19, encourage themto seek testing. Once you get a test, return home immediately and wait for yourresults. If you receive a negative test result, you should still stay at homeand not attend work, school or childcare until you are feeling well again.
Do not go to public places if you are unwell - this includes work, education, childcare, shopping centres, sporting events, social or religious gatherings.
Everyone must continue to follow measures that will help stop the spread. Practice good hygiene, keep 1.5 metres distance from others and stay at home if you are unwell.
People experiencing any of the following symptoms should be tested for COVID-19:
- Fever or chills (in the absence of an alternative illness that explains these symptoms)
- An acute respiratory infection e.g. symptoms of cough, sore throat, runny nose, or shortness of breath
- Loss of smell or alteration in the sense of taste
