There have been three new cases of COVID-19 today, all reported from a medi-hotel. There have been a total of 566 cases notified in South Australia.
Today's cases are two women in their 20s and a woman in her 60s, all who recently returned from overseas and returned positive results on their day one test.
There are now three active cases in SA and 559 people have been cleared of COVID-19. There have been four reported deaths from COVID-19. More than 782,500 tests have been undertaken.
In light of the growing number of cases in New South Wales, new travel restrictions are being put in place in SA.
Effective from Midnight 20 December, entry is denied for anyone who has been in the Northern Beaches LGA since 11 December. Anyone identified already in SA who has visited the Northern Beaches LGA since this date will already be in quarantine.
From Midnight 20 December, anyone entering SA who has been in the Greater Sydney Region, Wollongong LGA or Central Coast LGA will require quarantine in a suitable place, plus a COVID-19 test on days one, five and 12. A suitable place requires complete separation from others in the household and if this is not available, hotel quarantine will be arranged.
Anyone else entering SA from NSW will require a COVID-19 test on days one, five and 12 and this will include anyone who has entered SA from NSW in the previous three days (with 20 December being considered day one). These people are not required to quarantine, however they must monitor for symptoms, and self-isolate and seek another test if they begin to feel unwell.

All South Australians who have symptoms of COVID-19 should get tested on the day symptoms appear. Symptoms include:
- Fever or chills (in the absence of an alternative illness that explains these symptoms)
- An acute respiratory infection e.g. cough, sore throat, runny nose, or shortness of breath
- Loss of smell or alteration in the sense of taste
