COVID Cases in SA
There have been 4,594 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 27,136 active cases in South Australia.
Sadly, SA Health can confirm a woman in her 90s and a man in his 60s, who tested positive for COVID-19, have passed away.
There are 161 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including eight people in ICU, and one person requiring a ventilator. Of those hospitalised, 102 people are fully vaccinated, 47 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, and 12 have an unknown vaccination status.
Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases has been readjusted.

The latest genome sampling has found around 70% of samples taken were BA.2.

COVID testing
Yesterday, 15,592 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is a 33.5% increase on the previous 24 hours. Of the test results returned yesterday, 2,976 PCR tests were positive, while 1,618 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.
Vaccination update
Currently 95.1% of eligible South Australians aged 12+ have received their first dose of the vaccine and 92.7% have received their second dose. Boosters have been administered to 69.4% of eligible South Australians and 61.3% of South Australians aged 16+.
