The South Beach changerooms are set to open on Monday 28 July, with landscaping works in their final stages.
The City of Fremantle has been working hard to make South Beach a safe and pleasant experience for the community and appreciate beach-users' patience.
The next phase of works will see the City upgrading the carparks at South Beach as part of this year's Infrastructure Improvement Program.
Works are scheduled to take place from 17 July to 30 October 2025, weather permitting. Works will take place in three sections, the northern carpark, central carpark and southern carpark.
Each section will be closed for works during its phase. However, depending on sequencing and progress, sections may reopen in stages within this timeframe.
Message boards will be in place to notify road users during closures. Footpath and vehicle access may be restricted in and around the South Beach area, and alternative access will be provided where possible. Parking within the construction area is strictly prohibited during the works and street parking adjacent to the site will also be temporarily closed.
We appreciate your understanding and patience as we deliver these important upgrades to improve safety, access and functionality at South Beach.
